The path

In addition to a full-time performing schedule, Peter works as an individual lessons instructor for the Killian Scholars Program at Hartnell College, teaches privately throughout Monterey County, and has been commissioned by the Monterey County Pops! program to write arrangements for high school guitar and lead workshops throughout the region. From 2022-2025 he also taught group middle school guitar lessons through Youth Music Monterey.

Peter's approach to teaching is rooted in his own experience as a student. As part of the Jazz Orchestra I ensemble at Michigan State University, he toured Michigan providing outreach workshops at high school music programs. Learning from director Rodney Whitaker and featured guest artists was the foundation to shape how he thinks about music education. He has also taught at Guitar Center's Washington Square location in New York City for both in-person and remote instruction from 2019-2021.

In every setting, Peter's goal is the same: to help students grow their love for music, present a method for learning skill logically, and find their own voice within their playing. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to music after years away, lessons are structured around your goals, your pace, and your joy.
